Times like these require a unique leadership approach. Are you and your team ready for the challenge?

The Conference Board Experiential Programs leverage the power of experiential learning to demonstrate how senior executives can better instruct, inspire and equip their teams to manage successfully through uncertainty and change. The programs, which include leadership experiences at Gettysburg, Normandy, and Waterloo, are facilitated by experts in military history, strategic studies, innovation, culture change, and organizational effectiveness.

Why experiential learning with The Conference Board?

  • Experiential learning programs engage the participant in multiple dimensions—intellectual, emotional, psychological and physical—leading to higher levels of retention.
  • The Conference Board’s expertise in facilitating peer-to-peer learning and linking historical and current perspectives will help lead to success in the here and now.
  • The experiential approach encompasses all aspects of learning—from lecture and reading, to demonstration and discussion, to practical applications—to create an indelible meaning for each participant.
  • Our experience helping organizations address their most critical business issues allows us to partner with you to customize a program that is aligned with your specific strategic goals.

Experiential Programs engage learners in authentic experiences that:

  • Create meaning by placing the learner in unfamiliar territory that sets in motion breakthrough connections back to the workplace.
  • Allow participants to make mistakes without fear in a risk-free environment.
  • Break down silos, demonstrating the benefits of cross-organizational communication and teamwork.
  • Demonstrate the feasibility of change.
  • Use the power of analogy to make learning memorable and fun.

On Leadership Experiences

"Having attended Gettysburg, I was keen to share the power of a leadership experience with our global management team, and found Normandy to be the perfect venue. I plan to make some immediate changes to our leadership structure and to our planning process to implement some of the lessons we learned."
